Agriturismo Il Renello is approximately 7 km from the enchanting medieval village of Torrita di Siena, on a hill, with a splendid view over the Val d'Orcia, la Val di Chiana and Lake Trasimeno. Not only for its name, but also for its long lengths of ancient city walls where the four characteristic gates open, Torrita di Siena presents itself as the urban evolution of a fortified castle. The evidence of its past are praiseworthy and can be found in the main square, where we find the main buildings: the palazzo Comunale, the tower and the Church of Saints Flora and Lucilla – late Romaesque – containing precious works of art by the Sienese school. The theatre ‘Teatro degli Oscuri’ (18th Century) can be found in the same square. The ancient village of Montefollonico is a short distance from Torrita di Siena, a medieval fortress surrounded by strong walls in terracotta and stone. With its narrow and winding streets, its small and rustic houses the village offers an authentic image of Tuscany.
